hmmm this is quite cool. Modern day ambient producers should tune in. As for someone say music like this require no 'thought process' to make, I would imagine quite the opposite. He would have had to put a lot of thought into keeping a track so repetitive interesting for 10 minutes.

It's quite ironic how it has worked out; many of the proponents of that movement are now treated with the same contempt as the "overly-intellectual" types such as Babbitt, Carter, et al (also let me briefly say that I initially came to those composers as a musical amateur and found their music highly enjoyable)

@flammesombres Actualy, Terry Riley was part of intellectual movements, such as fluxus etc., although I do admit that it's a different type of intellectualism. As for the piece itself, it's not so simple as one might think. I recommend Robert Carl's book "In C" which analyzes the piece in depth. One of the nice things about it (and about many minimalistic pieces) is that it can be enjoyed on a purley emotional level, as well as on an intellectual one, or any level inbetween. Peace :-)
