Didn't make any sense to me and our version sounded just fine. I just watched him in the video too which actually helps. I had only seen him (JMcG) with Banshees and not with magazine.

These guys were a most unusual band in the punk/new wave era. The band was immensely talented and the songs were much more than three chord rockers. As beautiful as their songs were, they were always dark. I compare them to Stone Temple Pilots in that you have a fantastic band with a tortured, drug-addled frontman. Does anybody know what kind of guitar John McGeoch is playing? He plays it in every video I've seen. Looks like some kind of Gibson, but I'm not sure...

Truly fantastic band. As a diehard Ultravox fan at that time, I never really appreciated the talent and beauty of Magazine.. 30 years later, it really is a breath of fresh air. Adamson, in my opinion, is one of the most talented rock bassists of all time. Formula definately delivers the goods on keys (at a time whem keyboard players of this "style" were not SUPPOSED to be good, lest they be consider too prog ), Simon, great on on guitar, as he was in Ultravox. And Devoto, well, enough said!!!

I agree. The first 3 albums are a must!!! She also has a mini album called "A Girl at Her Volcano." It was released between "Pirates" and "Magazine. It has some live performances from a concert at Perkins Palace @ 1980. I might have the year wrong. That was the first time I saw Rickie. I gave her my gold cross. She probably thought I was a Jesus freak......lol.
