Pontiac Firebird holds a special place in my heart. My first car was a 1968 Firebird. Not to crazy about the front end design on this one...too FAT! I'm not sure about those wheels either. Like what's under the hood, though I pretty much lost my total love affair with the internal combustion engine when I drove a Tesla two-seater this spring. It was unbelievable! Electric IS the coming wave, like it or not.

The body of the new Camaro mimics GM's FIRST-generation F-body. The problem with every concept TA I've seen is that the front end/rear end/wheels/body accoutrements (e.g., spoilers, vents, scoops) mimic some iteration of the SECOND-generation Pontiac F-body. Some tuner needs to do a concept TA where the above-mentioned portions of the car (and add in, the interior) mimic a first-generation Trans Am - then they'll have it right - body and 'soul'.

my ol man had a L 82 version of this car it was a 76 though white with red int god it was bad ass ...and it was even better with a coil upgrade and a 750 holley double pumper ...we used to run it around lasvegas in the late 80 and we never got beat ... we even out ran a buddy that worked for the az hiway patrol in the cop 5.0 notchback mustang and those things will cruze at 160 [thats flyn fellas ]we only beat him by 1 or 2 mile an hour more barely beat him the ol 6.6 was past red line

Thanks for watching the videos. Glad you enjoy them, and I am sure you enjoy your car. As for the cubic inches.... :D Bore is 3.9 (99.1mm) and stroke is 3.62 (91.9mm) making it a 345.7 cubic inch motor (rounded up to 346). Technically it is a 5.665 liter (5665 cc).

@jnic69 Dude, just an old-timer chiming in(34 years old...) The best thing to do is chock the front wheels. Unless your car has an adjustable proportioning valve, letting you dial all the brake to the front wheel calipers. Your rear calipers and rotors although not getting AS MUCH of the work as the fronts, probably suffered BIGTIME from that stunt. If you plan to make a habit of that or do any staged tired burning for racing, use a LINE LOCK. Give your trans and gears my sympathy too...
